The Royal Numismatic Society awards each year a number of small research grants, usually not exceeding £500. These are available to Fellows and non-Fellows alike for any field of numismatic research, and since 1996 a new procedure for applications has been established. There is no standard application form, but applicants should set out the purpose of their project, what they plan to achieve, detailed costings, and what other sources of finance they have available, have applied for or intend to apply for. Applications in writing, with the names of two referees, should be sent by 31 December to:
RNS Research Grants,
Royal Numismatic Society,
c/o Department of Coins and Medals,
British Museum,

The awards should be announced within two months of the closing date.
